How much data do I need to backup?

DataVault allows you to select the exact amount of data you need to backup. Our "pay-per-use" system puts cost control in your hands. The following are suggestions and tips for finding and backing up the critical files on your computer or in your network.

·  Where are my files? Organizing and locating your critical files selectively ensures that you are only backing up data that is absolutely critical.

·  Windows Explorer: The ideal tool for file organization is Windows Explorer. You can cut, paste, and organize your files so that they are easy to find and select in DataVault. To determine the size of a file in Windows Explorer simply highlight that file, right click, and select "Properties."

·  DataVault: File selection in DataVault is as simple as clicking the "+" sign next to a folder or drive on the left side of the Backup Screen (the main start up screen) and placing a "check" in the box next to the files as they appear on the right side of the screen. The size of each file is indicated in the "size" column of DataVault.

·  Review: You can review the total amount of data selected for backup by checking the "Files Selected" section at the lower right corner of the Backup Screen (This is the amount of data before compression. DataVault will compress your data by at least a 2:1 ratio. YOU ARE ONLY BILLED ON THE COMPRESSED AMOUNT OF DATA STORED).

·  Checking your cost: Once you've completed a backup you can see how much your data compressed by looking at the lower left corner of the DataVault software. You will see your data amount next to the heading that says "Server Storage" in Megabytes (1 MB equals 1000KB).

·  Prices: www.automatic-backups.com and click on Prices. Once on the Prices page, you can use our calculator to figure out your total price.

·  Support: DataVault Support is available if you need help.
