A special thanks to attorney Troy Eid and associate Sarah Seedig of the law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP in Denver. GT Denver has once again shown its commitment and dedication to our community by generously creating pro bono a non-profit 501(c)3 for Santa’s Elves – Kids Giving to Kids.
“We are so thankful to Mr. Eid, Ms. Seedig and Greenberg Traurig, LLP in Denver for their legal expertise that made our volunteer group an official non-profit. Their generosity can not be overstated. This alone will take Santa’s Elves – Kids Giving to Kids to a new level because businesses will now want to contribute, parents will be able to write off part of their donations and more needy kids than ever will get gifts this holiday season,” Deborah Sherman, founder and president of Santa’s Elves, said.”Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.”
GT”s support of Santa’s Elves will help a future generation become philanthropers, and like GT Denver, invest in their communities. GT is known for its unique corporate philanthropy program, Great Minds Great Hearts (GMGH), which supports lawyers who are active in the community.
Santa’s Elves – Kids Giving to Kids was created by moms Deborah Sherman, Jennifer Engerman and Stella Castro in 2010 when they decided to teach their children early in life about giving back.
In the charity, any parent and their child can become an “elf” by signing up to give presents to children living in Colorado’s poorest area at Christmas time. Then, during a special event on December 14th, the “elves” will give their presents directly to the kids and get a chance to make new friends.
In 2012, 100 family elves gave more than 1,000 gifts to the children.
